After the season, Espindola then left for greener pastures in Deportivo Anzoategui in Venezuala. He rejoined RSL midway through the 2009 season as his prior club was having financial difficulties. After the 2009 season, his loan buyout was agreed upon and he signed with RSL on a new 4-year deal.

KIR SCOUTING REPORT
Fabi is a unique and often un-orthadox player, who has a very much S. American flavor to his game. He is left-footed, and favors the left foot exclusively. He likes to take on defenders with a lot of bobbing and weaving as he tries to get by his man. He will often push past his defender toward the end-line and is quite adept at getting in quality crosses, or balls across the goal mouth from that position.
Espindola is a fan favorite because of his hustle play, and the obvious heart that he shows out on the pitch. He has a toughness that seems to outstrip his physical stature. Fabi also has a bit of a temper and was seen in a few nasty battles with defenders during 2009, often getting the better end of the situation.
Espy has decent pace, but not the mind-blowing speed of teammate Robbie Findley. He has reasonable technical ability, but his predominant use of the left-foot can be a limitation at times. In 2009, he struggled to finish opportunities. With the departure of Yura Movsisyan he is likely going to be looked to for more goal production.
