Misc: Nat went undrafted out of college in 2003 but was signed onto the Colorado Rapid’s
reserve team. It only took him half a season to prove his worth before he was a regular starter
on the back-line for the Rapids. His obvious potential led to him making the U-23 national
team that competed for an Olympic berth. In 2006 he moved his family to Norway and played
for two seasons with Odd Grenland. His return to the MLS saw him step right back into a starting
role with Real Salt Lake beating out Argentine defender Matias Mantilla for the starting spot.

KIR SCOUTING REPORT
Nat is a very technical defender who makes up for a lack of athleticism with his knowledge of the
game. Playing as a central defender Nat is often the last player to beat by opposing strikers and time
after time he is forced to use his superb positioning to deny a shot on goal. He is looked to help
coordinate the defense along with keeper Nick Rimando and is a leader on the back-line. Nat, thanks
to his 6′ 2″ frame is also a target on set pieces in the box and on corner kicks.
