1: Joey Barton

This 32-year old midfielder was released by Queen’s Park Rangers after their relegation from the English Premier League. A 24-year old midfielder who played for Deportivo La Coruna for a season is also available currently. Not only did he graduate from La Masia but also played for Spain’s U21 team. He also had a forgettable loan spell with Ajax.

4: Andy Wilkinson

This 30-year old defender from Stoke has been released in May by his former club. He has over Premier League appearances apart from an FA Cup appearance in 2011 to his name. It goes without saying that he has sufficient experience as a right-back to offer in both the English Premier League and Football League.

5: Ron Vlaar

This 30-year old defender who played three seasons at Aston Villa impressed one and all at last year’s World Cup for the Dutch. However, he managed to only play 20 Premier League games last season due to injury. His fitness has been in question ever since he was ruled out for four months with a knee injury recently. While Lazio and Southampton seem interested, other clubs will wait until heis fully fit to offer him a contract.
