Ancelotti sacked as Real Madrid manager, will undergo a back operation on hiatus
Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked as manager of Real Madrid despite enjoying resounding success at the club by winning 4 trophies last season.
In making the announcement, the Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez said, “I want to thank Carlo Ancelotti for his two years of service, all his hard work and the affection he has shown, and also tell him that this is his still his home. This has been a difficult decision as you can all imagine, especially for the Board of Directors, but like I always say we are not here, at Real Madrid, to make easy decisions.”
Quite unfortunately, Ancelotti told CNN recently that this job was the one he wanted for the rest of his life but it wasn’t to be even though he led the club to its tenth Champions League title – popularly known as ‘La Decima’ among Real Madrid supporters.
Since 2000, Ancelotti now joins an elite list of 12 managers to lose their job at Real Madrid and which includes big names such as Mourinho, Pellegrini and Del Bosque.
This ruthless approach by Perez has won Real Madrid three league titles and 2 Champions League trophies in 15 years while their eternal rivals, Barcelona has already won 3 Champions League trophies as well as 7 domestic leagues titles over the same duration.
Both Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos, both senior players of the club, have expressed their warm support towards the manager who was instrumental in their tenth Champions’ League title.
Having said, and now that Ancelotti is unemployed, he wishes to undergo a back operation due to the presence of a stenosis.
